Plot
There are many different plots all happening at the same time. They are summarized below.
Humanity has always been aware of gifted people. These certain people have something within their genetics that makes them different from everyone else. Somewhere in their history, they have a being that was capable of using magic. This has passed down from generation to generation, giving their families the ability to use magic. Only within the last 150 or so years have the humans actually claim this to be true, and have accepted it as a part of their culture. Before that, these gifted people were hunted down and persecuted, accused of witchcraft, deals with the devil, and all sorts of other things. But humans were weak, and eventually, the overwhelming evidence of real actual magic pushed them into accepting it.
But where there is power, there is corruption...
Our story takes place in modern day New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. There are a lot more of these truly magical beings around today than there were 150 years ago, and the world has done all that they can to accept this fact, and everything they can to integrate them into society.
The Witches
Witches and Voodoo Queens have often been a big part of New Orleans culture, and this remains true. At the current moment, the Witches are gathering their forces for something big. A small bit of a turf war is going on between Tieri la Schade and Ava Marie Laveau, who are considered two of the more powerful witches in the city.
The Mafia
The Onyx Crosses, one of the most influential crime syndicates in the world has recently expanded into New Orleans. The leader of this group, Kyrarei Riei, has quite a powerful hold over the city. However, he is often not actually there, as his main base of operations is in London, England. But he can still be reached, and does occasionally appear. Right now, the operation in New Orleans is run by Javelin Sala and Finnian O'Ceallaigh, and has many other members running around. They can often be identified by a silver cross pendant around their necks, or a black cross tattoo somewhere on their person.
The Pures and The Ethereals
A year ago, a magical portal tore open in central London. This portal lead to another realm that we have since learned is called "Ter'Rhan", and is home to a pure race of Daemons. As it has been open for a year, quite a few Pure Daemons have found themselves travelling the world, which includes the city of New Orleans.
Ethereals are more common in London, but not much is known about them. It is rumored that one or two may be lurking around New Orleans, but no one has confirmed this to be true.
Other Pure races are not so common.
Overlapping
This site is a spin off of Prisoners of Fate, and thus, they share some plot points and many characters. However, the plots are fairly specific to each site. Both sites contain things that neither of the other site has, and are unique in their own ways. Occasionally there may be crossover threads and events on both sites.
